Electrolysis Permanent Hair Reduction

Electrolysis Permanent Hair Reduction - SKIN Lounge

Electrolysis Permanent Hair Reduction

What is it?

Epilation (electrolysis) is the permanent removal of individual unwanted hair using a short-wave diathermy current.

How does it work?

Electrolysis uses a fine needle to administer heat, which is delivered to the hair at the root. The heat dries up the moisture, living cells and blood supply that feed the hair, thus destroying it. Although this is classed as a permanent removal of hair, the result is achieved over a period of time.

Rachel Says…

The only permanent solution to hair removal, best in small areas (lip and chin). Electrolysis is only as good as the therapist performing it, experience is key with this treatment. Painful but worth it!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a course?

Yes, electrolysis will not be successful in one session, we are fighting against a very strong cause of the hair (hormones). However most of our clients see reduction in the growth quickly.

Is it safe?

Very, using just heat and a tiny probe (no products or chemicals) this treatment is extremely safe. However, like most treatments it has some medical limitations. A free consultation is recommended if you have any additional questions or would like further advice as to whether this is the right treatment for you.

What does it feel like? Does it hurt?

Hot and sharp in places. Sensitivity can vary depending on the person but also many other factors can contribute to sensitivity - area to be treated, tiredness, stress, medication, menstruation etc.
