How does it work?
The ear is cleaned with a sterile wipe before a pen is used to draw dots onto the ears to mark where the piercing will go. This ensures they are in the correct place and are not pierced until you are completely happy. The hand-piece is used to pierce the lobe with the chosen earring, whilst also applying the butterfly to the back in one simple step.

FAQs
What age do I need to be to have my ears pierced?
There is no legal age for ear piercing, however we do not pierce children below 8 years old. Anyone under the age of 16 needs parental consent.
Should I avoid anything afterwards?
We advise to avoid swimming and the use of harsh chemicals in the area (hairsprays etc) for at least 3-4 days after piercing.
How long does it take to heal?
This depends on the person but they should heal quickly if aftercare advice is followed using the aftercare solution provided. A minimum of 6 weeks for pierced ear lobes and 12 weeks for ear cartilage piercings.
How long until I can change my earring?
We advise not to change your earrings for 6-8 weeks or until they are completely healed. You should only switch into new earrings after the suggested healing period.
What do I use to clean my piercing?
We provide you with an aftercare solution (included in the price). This must be used twice a day with a cotton bud for 6 weeks, or longer if the piercing is still healing. More frequent cleaning is necessary after excessive physical activity. Avoid touching the piercing area(s) whenever possible.
Is there any age restrictions?
We have age restrictions on all of our treatments at SKIN Lounge due safety reasons and the body constantly changing. Ear piercing requires a minimum age of 16 years old, anything below that age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for consent. We do not pierce ears under the age of 8.
I’ve heard needle piercing is better for the cartilage?
There is no medical evidence to suggest a greater risk to the cartilage area whether pierced with a hand piece or a needle, we can confidently pierce the cartilage with our piercing system causing no further damage to the ear. If anything, piercing with our hand piece is a much quicker method as we use the sterilised earring itself to pierce. The cartilage area does require a longer healing period due to the reduced blood flow in the area, thorough aftercare is key!
