How does it work?
The Harmony treatment works by directing pulses of light into the upper skin layers. The light is absorbed by two of the body’s own natural chemicals – melanin in the pigmented areas and haemoglobin in the red blood cells. Both of these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin (brown patch) is stored, and to damage the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas where vascular damage is seen.
*Please note – we cannot treat redness or pigmentation using this method in the summer months due to the intense UV rays and the risk of further stimulation. You can begin booking this treatment from Autumn throughout all of the winter months when we don’t see as much UV radiation. To find out what you can book during the summer months instead please enquire to our friendly team – info@skinlounge.co.uk

FAQs
Do I need a course?
A course of 3 treatments is required.
Do I require a patch test?
A consultation and patch test is required 24 hours before your first procedure.
What does it feel like?
Short bursts of a hot, flicking sensation. Not painful but can be borderline uncomfortable.
Is it safe?
Very safe. However like most treatments it has some medical limitations. A free consultation is recommended if you have any additional questions or would like further advice as to whether this is the right treatment for you.
Can I sunbathe while having IPL?
You cannot be in the sun for 30 days before or 30 days after treatment including fake tan. This is because the light will be attracted to your active tan so will be ineffective. Tan can also cause the IPL to burn your skin. For these reasons we recommend your IPL Skin Rejuvenation sessions for autumn, winter and early spring.
How soon can I exercise?
We recommend that you avoid exercise for 48hrs after your treatment.
Is there any age restrictions?
We have age restrictions on all of our treatments at SKIN Lounge due safety reasons and the body constantly changing. Skin Rejuvenation requires a minimum age of 18 years old.
