How does it work?
Using a fractional ablative laser iPixel directs a short, intense burst of energy onto the surface of the skin. This heats water within the surface layers, causing both the water and skin tissue to turn to vapour. The process uses the skins natural healing to stimulate the growth of collagen and replace the lost skin with new, healthy and more radiant skin. This is the advanced alternative to Microneedling.

FAQs
Do I need a course of treatment?
If you have scarring, pigmentation or sun damage you will probably need a course of 3 treatments, once a week for 6 weeks. If you just want overall regeneration and to freshen up your skin then a one off treatment would be great.
Does this treatment only work on your face?
Absolutely not! It is suitable for use all over the body. It’s especially good with the treatment of stretch marks (even old ones!) and scarring.
Does it hurt?
Pain tolerance varies from person to person. During treatment it can feel hot and uncomfortable in places but we do try to carry out this treatment as quickly as possible. If we are treating scarring, the feeling will be more intense as we need to penetrate deeper. After treatment the skin feels as if it has sunburn and will look similar. This feeling tends to disappear after the first 24-48hrs.
How quickly will my skin recover?
This takes time, depending on the quality and health of the skin before treatment. Generally full healing takes around 7-10 days. The healing is quite tough to go through – you will need to plan your events around the healing phase but it will be totally worth it!
What do I need to do to my skin following the iPixel treatment?
We give you a soothing burn specific cream to take home and apply as much as needed. The first 24 hours is the toughest phase of the healing process. However once 48hrs have passed your skin will start to feel less irritated. You can apply make up after 24 hours if you wish. For the first few days, your routine will be cleanse, burns cream, SPF until your skin feels normal. Be very gentle with your skin throughout this phase as it will be extremely fragile.
Is there any age restrictions?
We have age restrictions on all of our treatments at SKIN Lounge due safety reasons and the body constantly changing. iPixel requires a minimum age of 18 years old but we advise its best for 20+.
