Due to the fact we lose 1% collagen every year from when we turn 21 (depressing I know!) To stimulate new collagen (the key to making the skin look young) we require some outside help. L-ascorbic acid (the most potent form of vitamin C) is essential for collagen synthesis (making new collagen.) Something the body simply will not do without outside help, especially after the menopause.
Applying Vitamin C to the skin can be 20x more effective than taking orally!
Apply Vitamin C to clean skin in the morning before any other products are applied, other products may be layered on top of Vitamin C (if advised) to enhance results. Always apply your sunscreen in the morning after your vitamin C to preserve and protect your skin.
My perfect partners with vitamin C are Retinol and a great quality sunscreen, my recommendations are the Retinol’s by Alumier MD – (link to all retinol including eye) and Alumier MD sunscreen – (link to sunscreens.)
Even a healthy skin takes around 30 days to regenerate, so even though you may see some results sooner, you should start to see real changes within the first 1 – 2 months of use.
My recommendation is the Alumier MD range of Vitamin C’s. (link)
Why Alumier MD Vitamin C products?
Alumier MD produce my absolute favorite Vitamin C products, both of their fantastic products use the strongest grade of Vitamin C you can buy without a prescription. Also combining their vitamin C’s with vitamin E. Vitamin E is highly moisturising, it protects cell membranes and acts as an antioxidant, which strengthens the effect of vitamin C. When using vitamins on the skin the quality and potency is paramount to the level of effect the vitamin will ultimately have on the skin.
