What’s really in your skincare?!

Unless we have professional help, often we will guess what our skin type is and buy any old product on the market that sounds attractive or has fantastic advertising without really knowing what it’s doing or whether we actually need it.

Most high street skincare products contain alcohol, parabens, perfumes and sometimes dyes, none of which should we be putting on our skin! All of these can cause irritation, sensitivities and unnecessary oil stripping. Even if we think we are choosing a ‘natural’ or ‘clean’ product – how do we really know? We just trust that the label reflects the product and assume it will help our skin.

However, UNBELIEVABLY there is no legal definition or requirement to label a product as natural, organic or vegan. The only legal requirement is to list the ingredients within the product.

Heres another shocker for you – a product can be described as ‘natural’ even if it has just 1% naturally-sourced, plant-based or mineral ingredients. ONE PERCENT?! So when we assume our Natural £5 cleanser is just petals and smells like lavender – it could be doing more harm than good!

The only ways to be sure that your product is what it says it is is to read the list of ingredients (and possibly brush up on your Latin and scientific names while you’re at it) or look for any of these logos.

We make sure that our professional and retail products are all cruelty free, vegan and of a high medical grade so you don’t have to worry. We then know that everything we are using will have a huge beneficial impact and be exactly suited to your skin type and what it needs.
